Newly Qualified Teachers - Programmes

You've spent almost a year undergoing your Initial Teacher Training, gaining QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) and most likely a PGCE under the expert supervision of Prestolee SCITT, or another institution. You've secured an NQT position to commence in the next academic year. (And you've hopefully booked yourself a well-earned holiday).

Now what?

Your NQT year, or 'induction' year, is essentially a bridging year between initial teacher training and becoming a fully qualified teaching professional. During this period, NQTs should expect to receive professional guidance, training and support, that compliments your school-based teaching role. 

Prestolee Initial Teacher Training offers a full NQT Induction and Training Programme, which forms part of a 3 year scheme incorporating NQT training, RQT training and Middle Leadership Training. Our NQT Programme draws its expertise from a range of practitioners and leaders across the Prestolee Teaching School Alliance.

THE NQT PACKAGE INCLUDES: Access to the NQT resources, reporting and guidance on our VLE Quality assurance through joint observation and support A full advice and guidance service Access to monthly CPD sessions Access to inter-session reflective tasks

NQT TRAINING WILL INCLUDE: 14 CPD sessions including a residential and an additional celebration event

NQT SUPPORT FOR THE EMPLOYING SCHOOL WILL INCLUDE: Induction Tutor training Quality assurance visits A full advice and guidance service Supporting 'vulnerable' NQTs within the school
